Our Story
Pasture raised, pasture finished,
no matter the season, for over 100 years…
Walking Home's connection to this country began in 1913, when the first grazing selection was taken up near Clermont. Thirty years later, in 1943, the operation was expanded — establishing the long-standing custodianship of Central Queensland cattle country that continues today.
Today, the Walking Home Beef brand runs across six stations, 32,000 cattle, and 312,000 acres of Central Queensland, supported by an exceptional team of managers, station hands, administration, and contract staff.
The crossbreeding program has evolved to include Ultrablack, Droughtmaster, Braford, Simmental and Charolais genetics — producing highly fertile cattle with exceptional weight-for-age and early finishing carcass quality. Bred for grass finishing, year in, year out.

The land first
We stock our land to its conservative carrying capacity, not the spreadsheet. The herd size is adjusted to the pasture, not the other way around.
